Additional Features/Server Changes:

  • Java clients not held for proxy checks (configurable).
  • Customizable reason for proxy kills.
  • Ident can be enabled/disabled from security web page.
  • Proxy check timeout can now be dropped to as low as you want, even zero. (Clients will still be killed later if they're found to be using an open proxy.)
  • No ident attempt for Java clients (configurable).
  • Add 'cost' configuration to 'as privilege' command set, allowing you to boost the flood cost of all commands.
  • Add 'security cps' defaulting to 50 connections per second.
  • Add 'security memtarget' to override physical memory detection.
  • Add new cached list code to reduce IRCNumeric memory usage.
  • Track connection accept/reject rate and total acceted/rejected connections.
  • Count/display number of kills due to z lines and number of blocks due to throttle.
  • Don't expire temporary z-lines that are manually placed.
  • More flexible restrictions on who can create new channels.
  • Restrictions on who can join an unregistered or unmanaged channel.
  • Chat server can password-protect nick names.
  • Channel allow/deny masks.
  • Enhanced DCC security.
  • Channel queues, users can wait in line for service from channel operators.

  • UNIX speculative write code, better I/O concurrency on both SMP and UP
  • Entropy optimizations
  • Hyperthreading enhancements and lock optimizations for x86 platforms
  • Solaris low-level lock optimizations

Bug Fixes:

  • Fix a case where +M would refuse to forward messages

Additional Commands:

  • Add /STREAMSTART to start the stream server.
  • Add /STREAMSTOP to stop the stream server.
  • Add /STREAM Command Set.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fix a bug where a corrupt query could crash the LDAP server.
  • Proxy/Ident checking bugfixes.
  • Typo fixed in 357 numeric that sometimes caused field updates to propogate corrupt.
  • Fix FJOIN/MOVE bug that could cause server crashes.
  • Fix encoding bug that can cause server crashes with large numbers of Java clients.

Additional Commands:

  • Add /SERVSTOP to stop services.
  • Add /WEBSTOP to stop the web server.
